A New School In Anosibe

Impact Madagascar, with the help of Cotswold Wildlife Park and other donors, raised nearly $6000 in 2018 to build a new primary community school in Anosibe, to replace the existing school building – a small shelter made of palm leaves, constructed by the local people to help bring education to the children of their remote village. The new permanent construction, completed early this year, will provide a safe and comfortable learning environment for the students and teachers.

Impact Madagascar continues to work with the community to officialise the school with the National Ministry for Education, and will provide appropriate training to the teachers for a better education for younger generations.

The school will increase student capacity, with two classrooms that can seat up to 80 students, as well as a library/teacher's room (which could also be used as classroom), and a shelter for outdoor activities and workshops with children, parents and teachers. Appropriate toilet facilities have also been constructed. In addition, the classroom has been stocked with desks and educational materials, such as text books and exercise books.

We thank each and every one of our generous donors for helping to make this new school a reality!

May 2019 marked the inauguration of the completed school building, and pictures of the celebration are forthcoming. Stay tuned!
